What do you do for Recession: Provide an eclectic hybrid mix of everything electro to progressive to mashup and just plain experimentally peverse. Im the Recession Dj’s last hope out of longterm unemployment as the resident recruiter. Unfortunately even I haven’t found a 9-5 job that I like…

Favourite Recession dj party moment: A few actually – having recently had most of my roadcrew turned away from a venue due to them having “had enough” according to the bouncers. Had enough what exactly? Also, watching the sun come up over the mountains playing a morning trance anthems set in subdegree temperatures at Elixir. Is it possible to get frost on your mixer? Playing Hard Trance at a RnB night out at the Embassy – the crowd dug it tres much. Putting on my first party in 2001 and having the fire brigade show up due to 3 smoke machines giving the whole “Burning down hall” effect.

When you’re not out partying you are a: geek, musician, producer, artist - www.djsooty.com - classically trained in flute and piano – although having agreed to dj at his first party in 2000 without even having seen a turntable in real life. The party went so well however that I ended up getting a shitload of gigs.

Favourite song: Currently two – Sniff by Kolombo

Favourite artist: I have the utmost respect for many artists – however I really dig Boards of Canada

Fav place to play: Outdoor events are always fun.. I dig the Burdekin and the Greenwood and venues with mixers with all the knobs on..

Final words: I blame James Zabiela from all the broken knobs on my EFX1000.. You can check out all my musical experiments here – myspace.com/oldehat – and here – myspace.com/fraudulentdjs

Actually, I’m a entrepreneur, a Record Producer (yeah, who woulda thought?), A Radio Show guy (FreshFM Sundays 9 – 11, I’m not the cool sounding guy), A nightclub Hustler/promoter , A aerospace engineering Student (yay – a degree I wont use!) and a internet-holic.

Favourite song: Atm anything jackson, or day n night by kid cudi and i got a feeling by bep

Favourite artist: anyone that has followed their dreams and made it by not selling out to rock!

Fav place to play: MOS, Singapore or club Capana Goa, followed by Peppermint club in Dubai and Seven in Bahrain

Final words: I work hard, sleep little and manage to piss plenty of people off in the process, and try to take a select few ppl a few steps closer to record industry success… in a way.. either that, or sell them impossible dreams and capitalize of them being naive. Yes, I’m a terrible person. But I make me happy most of the time, so I guess that works out, if you anything to say or add to the Recessiondjs blog email me on Ullash@recessiondjs.com also you should check up on my mixes on facebook by hitting up www.facebook.com/E2mix

Remaking The Video - Kid Cudi- Day n Nite (Big Boy's Neighborhood) from qdeezy on Vimeo.

This is hilarious. Just watch as they “remake” the Day ‘n’ Nite video. Watch the entire thing. *dead*

Number 3 on the ARIA charts and definetly a banger in the club, this video is more like a ‘making of’ video but i’m loving it. Check it out.

Empire of the Sun fans and musos across the world got to see and hear an exclusive broadcast from Empire of the Sun for the very first time on July 22.

It occurred for 6 minutes and 39 seconds shortly after 1:00pm (Australian EST) during the longest solar eclipse of the 21st century. The eclipse took place throughout the Asia Pacific region, visible only in Australia from the very tip of far North Queensland.

I read today, and thought you folks might like to know that Daft Punk is going to be creating the score for the update of Disney’s 1982 flim Tron. They unveiled this footage at last year’s Comic Con, but it was just released on the web a few days ago sync’d with this year’s Comic Con.
